Hey, this is my process from the worst part of the year, March and April 2019. Enjoy
This was an idea I drew after a friend told me I should paint this tunnel over the street in downtown Seattle. I thought it was pretty fun haha ;~)
This was a competition exercise attempting to rationalize the intersection of art and architecture in today’s built environment. The basis for this argument was that buildings continue to use the same kit of parts. Rather than superimposing an unrelated image on top of the physical condition, I attempted to complement the existing architecture by modifying the existing kit of parts. The patterns resulted from an analysis of architectural components (fig.2) and their relationship to an occupants experience. When applied they became a wayfinding, architectural, and artistic experience that did not exist before intersecting the two disciplines.
